About Us
Masjid Assalam Göppingen · Arabisches Kulturzentrum Göppingen e.V.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
We praise Allah, seek His help and forgiveness, and take refuge in Him from the evil within ourselves and in our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, none can misguide; and whoever Allah lets go astray, none can guide.
We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship in truth except Allah, and we bear witness that there is none to be followed in this worship except Muhammad, the last Prophet and Messenger of Allah. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, his family, and his noble companions.
As-salamu alaikum, dear brothers and sisters, ladies and gentlemen,
In what follows, we would like to give as objective and complete a picture of ourselves as possible.
We are a registered association, founded in 2008. Our association brings together Muslims from a wide variety of countries and nationalities – where a Muslim comes from plays no role for us. What unites us is our shared faith in Allah and His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
“O mankind, We have created you from male and female and made you into peoples and tribes, that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” — Qur’an 49:13
The use of the German language is also very important to us, since we live in Germany and the German language connects us – it is a key that lets us communicate with both Muslims and non-Muslims.
We belong to neither a political party nor any group. Rather, we try to live and convey Islam authentically according to the Qur’an and Sunnah, free of any extremism or distortion of the Islamic faith.
To show our peaceful character and attitude to the outside world, we deliberately chose the name Masjid As-Salam (Mosque of Peace).
We operate independently of any institutions or states and pursue no political goals. We simply wish to practice our religion, Islam, in our everyday lives.
